Privacy Policy

Effective Date and Scope

TapTape is independently developed and operated by the app provider identified as TapTape's seller on the App Store ("TapTape," "I," or "me"). This Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app. TapTape does not require a TapTape account. Optional product analytics is off by default and is collected only after you enable it. TapTape does not use information for advertising or cross-app tracking. Information is otherwise handled only as described below. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to taptape@ikam.pro.

Your Library and Preferences

To provide its features, TapTape stores content you create or select, including collection names; tape titles, subtitles, styles, and track order; Apple Music identifiers and metadata such as song, artist, album, and artwork references; generated or selected cover images; an approximate qualified-playback count for each tape; unfinished drafts; recent searches; playback state; and app preferences. Your main tape library, including the qualified-playback count, uses an iCloud-enabled store with an on-device backing database. Unfinished drafts, recent searches, playback state, app preferences, and the Apple Music resolution cache remain local to the device.

Apple Music and Media Library

If you grant permission, TapTape uses MusicKit and Apple's media library APIs to browse and search the Apple Music catalog and your library, show albums, playlists, and songs, build tapes, resolve track metadata, and start playback. Apple processes catalog and library queries and playback under Apple's privacy policy. TapTape does not receive your Apple Account password, copy Apple Music audio files, or send your Apple Music library to developer-operated servers as part of its current public features. Selected track metadata and artwork references may be saved with your tapes. You can revoke access in iOS Settings.

Photos and Sharing

TapTape uses Apple's system photo picker and receives only the images you choose. A selected image and edited crop may be kept in a local draft; a finished cover is saved with the tape and may sync through iCloud when iCloud is available. Share images are rendered on your device and are sent to another app or service only after you choose Share and select a destination. The destination's privacy practices then apply.

Device Storage and iCloud

Every user's main library uses the same iCloud-enabled SwiftData store. SwiftData keeps an on-device backing database and synchronizes collections, tapes, track metadata, cover images, and each tape's approximate qualified-playback count through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account when iCloud and the network are available. This count is maintained for product features, remains in your private library, and is not sent to developer-operated servers. TapTape does not restrict iCloud sync to Pro subscribers. Actual synchronization depends on your Apple Account status, iCloud settings and storage, network access, compatible app and OS versions, and Apple service availability. Apple operates iCloud under its iCloud terms. Deleting TapTape does not automatically delete existing iCloud data, and deletions made in the app may sync through iCloud.

Purchases

Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are processed by Apple. TapTape reads StoreKit product, transaction, entitlement, renewal, expiration, and offer-eligibility information to display plans and unlock features. I do not receive your payment card number or full billing details. Apple may provide the app provider with aggregate App Store sales and subscription reports under Apple's terms.

Support and Diagnostics

If you choose Feedback, TapTape prepares an email that you control. If you send it, I receive your email address, subject and message, attachments you include, and the attached TapTape diagnostic report. That report may include app version and state; device model and model identifier; OS version; orientation; locale and time zone; memory and disk information; Apple Music and media-library permission states; library-store type; and selected player. It does not automatically include your tape library, selected photos, or Apple Account password. You can review the draft, remove the attachment, or choose not to send it. Support information is used to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion at taptape@ikam.pro.

Public Legal Pages

TapTape displays this Privacy Policy and its Terms of Use from public pages hosted at tta.ikam.pro. When you open one of those pages in TapTape or a browser, the hosting and proxy infrastructure may receive standard web-request information such as your IP address, user agent, requested URL, request time, and security or diagnostic logs. The legal pages do not use advertising, product analytics, cookies, forms, or client-side scripts. This request information is used only to deliver and protect the pages, diagnose availability, and meet legal obligations.

Optional Product Analytics

Product analytics is off by default. After you successfully save a new tape, remix, or Editorial Pick, TapTape may show one optional request. Nothing is collected unless you choose Share Analytics. You can later turn collection on or off in More. Choosing Not Now or turning it off does not change app functionality, and activity while analytics is off is not cached or uploaded later.

When enabled, TapTape uses Mixpanel as a service provider to process event analytics for improving the app. Events may include feature and screen usage; successful tape creation or Editorial Pick saves; qualified playback and the selected player skin; paywall views; purchase outcomes and subscription access tier; coarse app-defined failure or diagnostic categories; app version and build; platform and distribution channel; and the lower-case two-letter Apple Music storefront country code when it is already available. Mixpanel assigns a random anonymous installation identifier so events from the same consenting installation can be counted consistently. TapTape does not use IDFV, IDFA, a TapTape account identifier, or Mixpanel identify() for this purpose.

Analytics never includes collection names, tape titles or notes, search text, song, artist or album names, Apple Music identifiers, photos or cover images, payment card details, StoreKit transaction identifiers, raw errors, request URLs, or response bodies. IP-based geolocation, automatic event collection, People profiles, Feature Flags, and Session Replay are disabled. Analytics is used only to understand and improve TapTape, not for advertising, advertising measurement, data brokerage, or linking activity across apps or websites. Apple may separately provide aggregate App Store analytics and crash or diagnostic reports if you enable sharing with developers in Apple settings; Apple processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Advertising and Disclosure

TapTape does not display third-party ads, sell personal information, or use information for cross-app tracking. Apple may provide aggregate App Store analytics and crash or diagnostic reports if you choose to share them with developers in your Apple settings. Current recipient categories may include Apple; Mixpanel when you enable product analytics; hosting and proxy providers that deliver the public legal pages; email providers used to deliver support messages; and destinations you select for sharing. Service providers TapTape engages to process user information on its behalf are required to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this Policy and required by applicable law. Apple services and destinations you choose process information under their own terms and privacy policies. I may also disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

Retention, Deletion, and Choices

Device-local content remains until you delete it in TapTape, clear the relevant history or draft, or delete the app, subject to any Apple device backups. iCloud library content remains until you delete it and the deletion syncs, or you manage the app's data through Apple's iCloud controls. Deleting TapTape does not cancel a subscription or automatically erase Apple-held App Store and iCloud records. Ending Pro does not itself disable or delete your iCloud library. TapTape does not restrict iCloud sync to Pro subscribers, but actual synchronization remains subject to the conditions described above. Support messages, public-page request logs, product analytics, and other developer-controlled service records are kept only while reasonably needed for product improvement, support, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations, subject to the configured service retention period.

Turning off Product Analytics stops future collection but does not itself delete events already processed. TapTape does not reset the anonymous installation identifier during ordinary on/off changes because doing so would create misleading duplicate installation counts. Historical analytics deletion is handled separately: contact taptape@ikam.pro with your request. You can also revoke Apple Music or Photos access in iOS Settings and manage subscriptions through Apple. Contact the same address to request access, correction, or deletion of information held directly by me.

Security and Your Rights

TapTape uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information it handles, but no device, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure or always available. Apple and operational providers may process information in countries where they operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. Contact me to exercise a right that applies to information I control.

Changes and Contact

This Policy may be updated when TapTape's features or legal obligations change. The effective date will be revised. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law or when reasonably appropriate. For questions, requests, or complaints, email taptape@ikam.pro.
